If you can, then maybe you’ve discovered your true vocation in life.
If you’ve been thinking about finding a job caring for children and helping them to play, learn and grow then this may be the opportunity you’ve been looking for.
This is a growing sector with opportunities for everyone.
You’ll be expected to play a key role in the lives of the children under your wing and to help to lay a solid foundation for the development of each child in your care during these crucial early years.
It takes a very special kind of person, with skills and qualities to meet those responsibilities, but if you’ve got what it takes then the opportunities are there to be grasped.
2,300 new vacancies will need to be filled by before 2008.
New Welsh Assembly initiatives such as Flying Start and the Foundation Phase, mean that an additional 2.300 vacancies will need to be filled by 2008.

We may be able to support your training to help you to gain the qualifications you need to work in a Day Nursery, Pre school Playgroup, Out of School Club, or as a Classroom Assistant, Childminder or Play Worker.
If you are already working with children we can support your training to help you improve your skills and aim higher in your career.
In collaboration with Coleg Sir Gâr, Carmarthenshire Children’s Partnership and Carmarthenshire Flying Start are currently funding a range of NVQ Level 2 and 3 Childcare courses including:

NVQ Level 3 Childrens Care Learning and Development
CACHE Level 2 Certificate in Childcare Education
CACHE Level 3 DPPW (Diploma in Playgroup Practice Wales)
CACHE Level 3 Welsh Diploma in Playgroup Practice Wales
NVQ Level 3 Health & Social Care (Children & Young People)
